Celebration and Holiday Materials for Secular Jews
70% - 80% of people who self-identify as Jewish or part Jewish have a personal theology that does not involve a micro-managing God * "Cultural Jew" agnostic, Ignostic, humanistic, spiritual and atheist are some of the descriptions that many
of them add to describe themselves.
For some, the litergy of traditional Jewish services and ceremonies causes them to avoid participation in holiday and life-cycle observances. Others participate only to be a part of the "tribe".
For those who wish there were words and music that enabled them to to participate with a people centered approach to their Jewishness, there are options and a long, but litttle known, history of groups of like minded people.
I led a small Jewish holiday and life-cycle celebration and coommoration group for families in Atlanta for 12 years - Congregation Kol Chaim.. I was loosely affilitated with the Society for Humanistic Judaism at the time. (SHJ.org) As the "rabbi" of the group, I created and currated materials that met the needs of the families, many of them of mixed faiths.
In this section of my site I've include some of the extensive list of materials from my computer. I will gladly share other content on request and will advise and participate in events. Dave Savage 404 323-8686 Dave@DaveSavage.com DaveSavage.com HeartfeltMemorialServices.com DaveSavage.com
