Do you need accented letters to type names and words in European languages? Here are the shortcut keys to type an accented letter in the font size and style you are using on your PC. The numbers are ascii codes that are most easily typed on a keyboard that has a number keypad on the right side. Hold the alt key down while entering the numbers. When you release the alt key, the letter will appear where your cursor is.
ñ is 164, Ñ is 165
é is 130, ê is 136, è is 138
¢ is 0162, → is 26, ÷ is 0247, • is 7, the degree symbol ° is 0176, ♥ is 3
You can color and modify them like any letter or number.

Shift F7 – thesaurus provides word alternatives and definition. Highlight a word, then While holding down the Shift key, click on the F7 key

Double-click on the dark section on either of the top or side ruler of the page.
Text box Quick activation
When you click on a graphic image that is inside a text box, you usually can’t see the box until it is activated. Activate it by clicking any directional arrow on your keyboard.
Precision movement of text boxes – One Pixel at a time
Click on the border of a text box to activate it. Click any directional arrow on the keyboard to nudge the text box. One pixel per click or hold for continuous movement. This will not work if your cursor is inside the text box. Highlight several text boxes to move them at the same time.
The em dash — The easy way.
An amateur writer often uses a hyphen when they ought to use an em dash. An em dash looks like a hyphen but is as wide as the letter m. Alt + Ctrl - (the minus sign key on the keypad)
The en dash – The easy way. Shorter than an em dash and longer than a - hypen.
Ctrl - (the minus sign key on the keypad) A hypen will automatically change to an en dash when you insert a space before and after the hypen.
Justifying text
Ctrl + E for center justification.
Ctrl + J for full justification (justification to left and right margins).
Ctrl + L for left justification.
Ctrl + R for right justification.
Put your cursor anywhere, on the page, without scrolling.

Click on OK
Now you can double click anywhere on the page to place the cursor.
My favorite Windows feature allows you to copy any part of your monitor image and have it instantly saved to your clipboard, so you can paste it (ctrl V) to a document. In sequence, or at the same time, click the windows, shift and s keys. The screen will darken. Then use your mouse and right side button to click and drag the mouse cursor over the part that you want. When you release the mouse button, the image is automatically saved to your clipboard, so you can paste it anywhere.
