When your family comes to visit for any reason.

When your family is leaving after a wonderful visit, do you regret not having recorded any of your great convesations, AGAIN!

Wouldn’t It Be Great To Have Some Of The Fun Stories, History, Traditions And Fond Memories Preserved When Your Family Gathers To Celebrate And Reconnect?

When your extended families gather, for any reason, I recommend that you set aside a special time and place to record their stories, history, traditions, personalities and talents.
This is a wonderful opportunity, that shouldn’t be wasted, to reveal, preserve and share your family’s genealogy and characters

Can you see how this activity would be rewarding in many ways and a valuable way to spend time together?

Many people have no detailed record of their previous generation’s stories: history, wisdom, experiences and personality. Are you one of them?  This is an affordable, yet priceless gift you can give to your family and future generations.  There are far too many people with regrets of lost opportunities to do this..

Some reasons to hire me:
♦ Hiring me makes it happen. Hosting your guests, handling all of the other things on your To Do list and handling the logistics of creating these recordings is difficult..
♦ I provide planning and materials to get your family excited and ready to participate with notes, historical documents and heirlooms brought from home.♦I bring experience in staging and directing techniques to enhance the interactions and let the camera capture the expressions.
♦ I provide my lists of questions to create fun, lively and meaningful conversations
♦ I provide special lighting and equipment to provide soft lighting and block uncluttered backgrounds..
♦ I keep the cost affordable with planned, in-camera, editing.  Verbal introductions and summaries create a natural beginning and ending to each chapter of the video on the DVD and on the web.  Planned editing reduces expensive and time consuming editing.
♦ I create a relaxed and fun environment that is also sensitive to tender or painful feelings around particular topics.

My goal is for you to have a meaningful and touching recording, similar to what you hear on the NPR Story Corps segments.

Wouldn't it be wonderful to add these fun and meaningful additions to your video?
Your Grandma reads children’s books to your future and perhaps current children. When the children are old enough, there is great grandma on the TV reading the same books that you have saved for them to follow along.

Uncle Harvey demonstrates how he makes his famous sweet potato pie that he learned from your great aunt Mary.

Grandpa teaches the meaning and how to pronounce special words and phrases from his heritage:
A passing of tradition from his generation to the future.

Cousin Sarah shows the Ellis Island documents and heirlooms she inherited from
her great grandparents

Several relatives show and share about their favorite old family photos.
Through collective memories of the group, the stories behind them can be enriched,
discovered and documented.

A family talent show – The Johnson family sings, niece Emily plays the violin, cousin Mike does some magic tricks and brother Sid hangs a spoon on his nose.

Add any special special skills or knowledge you'd like to pass onto future gernations

There are some of the things that make your extended family special and unique and worth preserving.

Call for my FREE list of wedding reception suggestions for creating more meaningful ceremonies.  When well done, traditions such as cutting the cake, tossing the bouquet, and toasts will generate a collective “AWWWW!!” because they were done in a meaningful and thoughtful way.

Also call me  to request my FREE inter-generational conversation guide. E-mail it to the “kids” to provide an extended list of questions to ask their elders during a visit or on the phone.  You’ll wish you had recorded these conversations too.
